If acne is not treated rightly or negligence is shown in caring the area affected by this problem scars could develop. These scars are known as acne scars. Since acne is a very complex issue and comes under a variety of different types, the scars that accompany acne are also categorized in many different types. In the following paragraphs we would take a closer look at Depressed fibrotic scars. Depressed fibrotic scarring are tiny mounds or craters formed on the facial area. The sizes of these scars vary and are caused due to a loss of tissue in the face. They are commonly found on the cheeks of the affected individuals. These scars can become Ice pick scars. (See Ice Pick Scars) Depressed fibrotic scars are commonly very large, although they vary in size as stated above. They have sharp edges and steep sides. The base of these scars is hard to the touch. After acne as the pus expands, bacteria, oil and dead skin cells also do the same and in return they rupture the skin and attack the dermis. Now for the protection of dermis the white blood cells rush in for support. This process may cause loss of collagen making deep recess or depression. This is the cause of the loss of skin tissue and thus below it a saucer shaped scar is formed. Depressed fibrotic scars can be treated in many different ways (See Acne scars treatment) but it is important to know what type of remedy suits you. A person affected by this problem should study the things to avoid in order to exaggerate the damage. |
